£5,000 Prize Fund A NEW competition to the summer calendar – the Lincoln JumpCross Eventer’s Challenge - has been welcomed by leading event riders. Thanks to sponsorship from Lincoln, well known for their range of horse, health and leather care products, this exciting new fixture has a £5,000 prize fund on offer. From the Battles stable, the Lincoln brand remains a firm favourite with both top competition and leisure riders. Many of the major stars of the eventing world, including Ollie Townend, Jeanette Breakwell, and Mark and Tanya Kyle are set to converge on JumpCross headquarters at Grange Farm, Wittering near Peterborough on Tuesday, June 23 to take part in this innovative new event. Organisers are set to attract 50 of the top event riders from around the country to take part as well as some of the major names from the world of showjumping and spectators and members of the public are very welcome. With a £2,500 first prize riders have given their full backing to the new event which is expected to see competitors bring out both very experienced horses and those on the way up. Riders will take part in a two round competition over a course of fences ranging from 3ft 6in to 3ft 9in on cross country type terrain. Explained Jeanette Breakwell: “JumpCross is a unique sport run across country with knock down fences. Each round will be timed and penalties added for knock-downs and refusals. At the end of the course there is also a joker fence which gives you a chance to reduce your score. “Everyone is really looking forward to this new competition, JumpCross is an exciting sport and requires careful, skilled riding. With a total of £5,000 to win and a host of extra prizes it looks set to be a great day.” Added Robin Dunlop of JumpCross: “We are delighted that so many riders have shown their support for the competition. JumpCross is growing at a pace around the UK and across into Europe and beyond. “We are very grateful to have Battles, through the Lincoln brand for sponsoring the day and hope to make it a real celebration for the sport which is gaining popularity and a growing band of followers all the time.” Richard Dewey of Battles commented: “We are proud to support the inaugural JumpCross Eventer’s Challenge and look forward to hosting many of our loyal customers on what promises to be a fantastic day.”

The event is held at the JumpCross headquarters at Grange Farm, Wittering near Peterborough. Riders take part in a two round competition over a course of fences ranging from 3ft 6in to 3ft 9in on cross country type terrain.

Mark Kyle Wins Lincoln JumpCross Eventer’s Challenge 2011
TOP riders from all over the country converged on Grange Farm, Wittering to compete in this year’s Lincoln JumpCross Eventer’s Challenge.
With a £3,000 first prize at stake kindly donated by Lincoln, and good money down the line to provide a £8,500 prize fund, the field included eventing stars Mark and Tanya Kyle, Oliver Townend, Piggy French, Matthew Wright and Jeanette Brakewell. In a close run competition, it was a repeat performance for Mark Kyle and the talented grey, 12-year-old, Step In Time to head the competition over Robin Dunlop’s well designed track that featured water crossings, combinations and a joker fence allowing riders to improve their score at the very end of the round. Said Mark: “It was a great competition and a wonderful day. Having won last year it was brilliant that we were able to repeat our success and take home the excellent prize money. “I really enjoyed the event, the course was well designed and Step In Time is an excellent jumper so this type of competition really suits him.” Riders took part in a two round competition, one in the morning and one in the afternoon with the scores from both rounds combining together to determine the winners. Jo Chipperfield riding the 10-year-old grade B show jumper, On Your Marks finished second after two very pleasing clear rounds. |

The original wound measured 5cm x 7cm and was located between the shoulders of a 2y 4m old female cocker spaniel. This started off with what appeared to be a moist eczema at her post-op check following her spay. There was no history of trauma. The only thing we could determine as a possible cause is that it was consistent with the location of the subcut injections she recieve prior to her surgery. The affected skin died and started to lift away from the underlying tissue (1st pic). The 2nd pic was after I had cut away all the loose, dead skin.
